As your shooting improves, you will be able to test your
accuracy and attempt to qualify for one of the seven different
Marksmanship standards. Any of the awards can be gained with any of the
ATC approved rifles.

'easiest' award to gain but is still quite difficult. It is
based on shooting a number of grouping practices and
demonstrating consistently good shooting |
No badge awarded but cadets may fire L98 rifle
if they have passed the L98 WHT and are over 14 years old |
First Class Shot - a
little harder

Squadron Marksman - still based
on grouping, you need to be very good to qualify |

shooting of Grouping, Application, Snap and Rapid Practices |

Regional Marksman - as above but
a higher score must be achieved. |

Corps Marksman - a slightly
different set of practices - only the very highest scores will
